In Burgundy I do as the Burgundians do. Drink only Burgundy wines and eat the local specialities which includes frogs legs, foie gras, duck, nougat and bien sur…baguettes!
Last night our group attended the Paulee de Dijon which compares to our end of harvest celebration. Eating good food and sharing you special vintages goes with a lot of talking and clapping and waving of hands. Michael Fridjhon was a special guess at the Paulee which was held in the Cellier de Clairvaux and impressed with his perfect French. At our table was Jean-Michel Jacob from Domain Lucien Jacob, Monsieur Raillard, Alain Houpert from the municipality. All very interested in visiting in South Africa and linking Burgundy with Hermanus, South Africa’s “little Burgundy”.
