Hermanus – South Africa’s whale haven

With the establishment of the Hermanus Wine Route it took no time before we saw wineries and wine labels depicting our favourite mascot – the whale. Whalehaven is the first stop at the entrance to the Hermanus Wine Route and with a recent re-branding the presence of whales on the route has just been strengthened. Whalehaven has a brand new, stylish interior where you can also taste jam and buy local mustard. In an area renowned for Pinot noir and Chardonnay Whalehaven rises to the occasion with an award winning Pinot produced from grapes sourced from Sumaridge.
The tasting room is also open on Sundays to ensure that visitors don’t have to miss out on what’s on offer.
