Neal Martin’s Report on South African wines have been released and it highlights Hemel-en-Aarde as a favourite. Having tasted the best of the best Mr Martin reports ‘Take it from me, Hemel-en-Aarde is making serious, world-class Pinot Noir.’ On the list of the top 20 South African wines is Hemel-en-Aarde Valley’s 2013 Hamilton Russell Pinot Noir scoring 94 points.  This is the 33rd release from the estate that planted the first Pinot noir outside Hermanus and encouraged others to do the same.
