Hemel-en-Aarde wine producers got together at The Marine Hotel in Hermanus to celebrate the sunny weather after a week of rain. This get-together was also about bringing the wines to town and participating in the Hermanus FynArts festival. With many exhibitions and performances happening in the village centre it was a good break to have a sip of wine and a social chat between art appreciation engagements. Wine supporters could walk around and speak to the individuals behind the brands and taste the latest vintages. It was a wine education for some. A young consumer with a developing palate enjoyed learning about the approaches to the making of rosé wines. Other visitors enjoyed the chance to compare wine varietals that are all produced in the same region. New residents appreciated learning more about their environment and what is on offer locally.
Wine expresses artistic virtues from the production, label design to the enjoyment. The Hemel-en-Aarde wine producers confirmed their role in the heritage of Hermanus with an illustration of their art.
