Day 2 of our Western Cape Tourism visit to Germany was filled with enthusiastic engagement with German travel agents at Le Panther in Frankfurt. Most agents have been to South Africa and are planning to make another trip. We met a few who has been more than 3 times and already have their next journey booked. All visitors to our stand were curious to learn about new experiences and also more exclusive products. They are very happy to hear about the hotel expansions in Cape Town. Six new hotels in Cape Town will provide many more beds to satisfy the increased demand. With Lufthansa air traffic to Cape Town increasing with an astounding 40% in the first five months of 2017 when compared to the same time in 2016 we will be needing all the beds we can get. But, the German tourist goes beyond Cape Town. There is interest in kite-surfing, the Garden Route, wine, penguins and whales. We worked till close to midnight to answer all the questions or reminisce about favourite South African experiences and left knowing that we will meet many of these agents again in South Africa.
