Hermanus has the best land based whale watching in the world. Not keen on the traditional way of exploring you could also get in a boat or plane for improved visibility. It will cost a bit more but its guaranteed to be more adventurous and give you a close encounter with the whales of the Cape Whale Coast. These are mostly Southern Right Whales and Humpbacks. Gracious creatures that dot the seascape of Walker Bay from June till November every year. The annual migration of the whales is enough reason to host a festival.
