Walker Bay Whale Watching from Above

Saturday was the launch of Africamps on Stanford Hills.  What a community affair it was!  There was live music, farmers market, wine, craft beer and a tractor drive to the 4 Africamp tents.  And then… I was invited to take a flight with African Wings in a Cessna with one very experienced pilot Dave.  We saw a number of whales cruising, mating and lazing in the Walker Bay.  Heritage village, Stanford, looked neatly laid out and green from the sky.  This was the best view of the Cape Whale Coast that I’ve ever had.

African Wings can take 3 passengers at a time and offers a smooth flight with spectacular whale watching and nature scenes.  A trip for 3 sells at just over R2000 and is a real treat.  Before or after the flight a lunch with wine tasting at Stanford Hills complete the experience.

This was a memory that I will not forget!  A memory to save in my #IDoTourism box.
