How I love to eat! Eat and drink actually. But the good stuff. The finger licking, lip smacking goodies. It’s not often that I rattle the pots and make the gas sing. When I do its magic. Even if I say so myself. Magic and only (very) occasionally a bit of something burnt. This weekend I fired up a mean waterblommetjie stew. Very local to South Africa’s Western Cape. Waterblommetjies are like a hardy flower that grows in dams and comparable to green beans. I browned lamb, sautéed onions and braised potatoes with the waterblommetjies. A dash of lemon zest and lots of the secret ingredient. Well, that’s of course love!
