Every weekend is precious but the way you get the weekend going makes some better than others. Step number one…knock off a little early. Step number two is to have a plan. Have something lined up.
With this in mind I left my office in Hermanus just after 15:00 and drove straight up Hemel-en-Aarde to Creation Wines to try out their new menu. A change is as good as a holiday and with Creation a change to their winning repertoire will only have the fans coming back for more. The new dishes have a local edge in that seasonal Overberg products are used. Currently waterblommetjies is plentiful in the Western Cape and offers a much loved regional taste. Creation chefs have taken traditional recipes and given them a twist to smarten up and get with the (foodie) times. Feasting on the koesister and the gelato developed with Stanford’s Don Gelato was certainly the way to rock any weekend kickoff. And I did not even mention the wine!
