Show up, stand up and speak up… There’s more to a presentation than meets the eye. Or is there?

Today was the final presentation in a series of 4 and it always strikes me that the best presentations are not those with the flashiest PowerPoints. It’s those with a powerful message and some lightheartedness. Engaging the audience is critical. Make the listeners part of the conversation and they are invested to deliver a favorable outcome. Humor goes a long way to lift spirits and keep attention. Last but not least…Timing is everything. When in doubt about proceeding or not… shut up and sit down. That’s after you’ve shown your appreciation for the listenership with a round of sincere “thank you’s”.
