24 hours in Langebaan

Situated on the waterside and developed along the coast boasting 2 marinas, Langebaan is a nature lover’s paradise.  On a good day the lagoon is a mesmerizing dam of aquamarine and can easily be mistaken for the Mediterranean.  If you have only one day to spend here the secret would be to stay close to the water for maximum impact.  You can spend all 24 hours in Langebaan staring at the lagoon or you can do the following:

Breakfast at Farm House with views over the lagoon.  Make sure you have some of the locally roasted Wings coffee.

Take a drive through the West Coast National Park and do bird watching or appreciate the West Coast flowers if you are there in the season which starts towards the end of August.

Take a kite surfing lesson to strengthen your arm muscles and work up a decent appetite for lunch.  There are a number of kite surfing schools.

Zip off to the West Coast Fossil Park for a browse of historic animals and have lunch on the verandah overlooking the rugged landscape so typical of the West Coast.

Do a beer tasting Black Eagle tasting room.  Because you can and because this is Langebaan’s only craft beer manufacturer.

Sun downers at Kokomo’s where the menu has an extended variety of reasonably priced cocktails including craft gin options featuring Tripple Three from Blaauwklippen.

Pearly’s is an institution and here you have pizza.  Bazuki’s at Mykonos gives a Greek feel.

Time’s up!  You’ve got to spend another night in Langebaan!
