It’s a wrap!  2017 is almost gonners and will be over soon.  Last year I saw 2016 slipping away from a beach chair next to Langebaan lagoon but this year I will be home in Vermont, Hermanus.

It’s a busy weekend starting tonight with Jesse Clegg at Sumaridge Wine Estate in Hemel-en-Aarde.  First time seeing him live and looking forward to sharing the experience with my sister.  Tomorrow morning it’s an early start.  Saturdays are about ParkRuns and markets.  We have one ParkRun in Hermanus and plenty of markets:  Hermanuspietersfontein, Hermanus Country Market, Stanford Saturday Morning Market… Then time to catch up with friends before we hit sunset boulevard in Onrus with sun-downers at Milkwood.

Sunday will be about reflections.  Looking back and noting lessons learnt.  Then some dreaming about 2018.  That, and a good breakfast somewhere special.  Somewhere like Creation!  A Creation brunch is very special and an apt way to wave 2017 goodbye.  While the clock is ticking we’ll start the braai fire in the afternoon and gather chairs and glasses to spend time with friends and family and cross our fingers for a prosperous year ahead.  2018 I am ready for you!
