Slap bang in the small Overberg village of Bot River is a restaurant that insists that their piri piri is not Portuguese. The place is called Manny’s and they serve Madeiran food. The espetada, chicken piri piri and prawns – all yum. Milho Frito, or fried porridge came as a whopping surprise. Fortunately all good. The jovial Manny is hands on and leads the team in the kitchen. Bring your own wine if you wish or order from the small bar.
