From 8 till 17 June it is Hermanus FynArts time again. A time when Hermanus comes alive with all things art. The new programme book has just been launched and the public can buy tickets as from 9 February for this Overberg celebration of the arts. A Strijdom van der Merwe’s sculpture is on the cover and this seals the deal to a fine festival of the arts.

A personal FynArts highlight is the Wine Plus Series which is curated by Melvyn Minnaar and sponsored by Amorim, a cork supplier.  As per usual this series will be presented at The Marine Hotel and this year we will see well known wine personalities such as Norma Ratcliffe, Bennie Howard, Boela Gerber and Johan Malan in action.  Meerlust and Kanonkop are 2 more iconic wine brands that will take the stage.

Hermanuspietersfontein winemaker Wilhelm Pienaar will do a Bordeaux barrel tasting at his cellar.  For the more adventurous Wilhelm with take it next level by giving attendees an opportunity to blend their own bottle of Bordeaux.  Wilhelm will be on standby to guide the process and make sure your wine making efforts are rewarded.

There’s more than wine.  Paul du Toit of Wine Village will present a Gin Revolution that is just… revolutionary.  The nuances of botanicals, addition of water and the magic of craft tonics will be as much entertainment as education.  Make sure to book your tickets and these personalised tutored tastings.
