Nelson Mandela Centenary

Nelson Mandela would have turned 100 this year. In celebration the Nelson Mandela Foundation announced a 2 year programme and South African Reserve Bank will issue commemorative bank notes to honour this great leader’s legacy. Of special interest is the fact that Mandela came to visit Gregoire Boonzaaier in Vermont, Hermanus. I get to walk past the house where Mandela visited almost every day. What a great privilege to know that Vermont and its artist community deserved a visit by the first President of our new democracy. The picture above can be found in the Milkwood Restaurant in Onrus.
