Lots of genade or grace was required for my 35km circular hike from Genadendal in the heart of the Overberg this weekend. Here are a few photos of an exhausting and strenuous adventure that was booked via CapeNature. Day 1 was tough – we climbed 600 meters. Day 2 was a killer – we climbed 800 meter OR was it a 1000? With all that stepping up I was not counting anymore. But I did it. With the help of a 1 litre box of Robertson dry red decanted into my Riedel glass and served with a medium done rump marinated for 48 hours in Nigella Lawson’s not so secret sauce. I live to tell the tale.

We did this trail self guided. There were a few points when a guide would have added loads of value.
