The Problem is not the Problem…

Every time I hike with a group of people I can’t resist writing down the many wise words uttered in shear exhaustion, hunger or frustration.  On the Whale Trail I was reminded of the profound words of Captain Jack Sparrow.  Here are a few words that made me think, laugh or just nod my head.

  • The problem is not the problem.  The problem is your attitude to the problem.  This is a Jack Sparrow quote and a keeper. Another one is “why fight when you can negotiate?”.  If you choose to lock your heart away you’ll lose it for certain.  Not all treasure is silver and gold mate.

Then there are other quotes or sayings that just pop up.  Some good and some less so.

  • Some days you wish you were an octopus so that you can slap 8 people at once.
  • The 1st client through the door is by the grace of God.  The 2nd client comes through the door by what you do.
  • Deep sea divers share.
  • A Bosveld TV?  – a braai!

Jack Sparrow has many more wisdoms lined up and so does any hiker who had to look a blister in the eye and wished he’d pack more wine.  It’s worth sharing these quirps – sometimes.
