Art Zoo in Pringle Bay is one of the Cape Whale Coast’s hidden gems. Where else would you find a combination of coffee shop, juice bar, animation hub, bike tours and repairs and art studio? Art Zoo is IT! It’s been going since 2016 and if you step beyond the Pringle Bay village hub and continue down the dirt road past the United Church you will find John and Ali’s place of work and play. They offer great coffee at only R15 per cup, animation services, bike tours of the area, a curry club in winter and Greek food in summer.
Ali worked in the UK and is skilled in using animation in facilitations with development of disadvantaged kids. Locally she has worked with the children of Mooiuitsig, Betty’s Bay, and has been commissioned for work for the new Khayelitsha Hospital amongst others.
Also at Art Zoo you might be lucky to find the every busy and multi-talented Takura Chadoka who does screen printing on T Shirts and bicycle repairs. Takura keeps his family close as his brother Tafara makes pizzas at Little Bay Pizzeria & Bar while his other brother Timotenda is the chef at Bistro 365.
Watch out for John’s Curry Club starting in May and planned for every Saturday night.
You will find Art Zoo at 422 Crescent Street, Pringle Bay. Phone them on 071 398 8192.
