Sundays in Stanford

There’s nothing like a Sunday lunch in the country. In the spirit of rest and relaxation I made the short journey to Stanford Valley Country Farm. Just the perfect place to indulge in fresh air and good food. The farm’s Manor House restaurant blends fresh fare, fine wine and collectors art in a winning combination. Satisfaction guaranteed!

My mains of kabeljou with a citrus and caper sauce was followed by a crêpe Suzelle. Named for South Africa’s DIY diva these crêpes come with moskonfyt and are totally decadent. The lunch aftershock was mitigated with a walk on the farm and a closer inspection of the Herman van Nazareth sculptures.
