I have just finished reading The Paris Wife by Paula McLain and totally loved it. It is a story of love and betrayal intertwined with a travel journal of places in the US and France concentrating on Paris.

The year is 1920 and Ernest Hemingway meets Hadley Richardson in the States. They fall in love, get married, moved to Paris, have a baby and then Ernest’s eyes and attention drift to other women. Separation and divorce were imminent. It was one of the best books I have read this year, also for the Paris culture and scenes described so beautifully. The Luxembourg Gardens features twice as the couple stayed not far from this Paris landmark. I have finished reading the book but can’t put it away yet.
