I spent a day in Agter-Paarl and visited 2 new places before stopping at an old time favourite.
First stop was breakfast at Nine Oaks close to Rhebokskloof. They have a few farm cottages to rent and serves as a function venue. There are beautiful views across to the Wellington mountains with real farm style hospitality. Next up and only a short drive away was Ridgeback Wines. We sat on the deck and watched the black swans and koi fish in the pond below. I bought a bottle of Ridgeback Journey – a Bordeaux blend that I’m yet to try.
Last stop was at Brenda’s on Spice Route for a few… spices of course. I also stocked up on preserved lemons as I will be making some tagine recipes this winter. Then it was time to head back home to Hermanus.
